Stay as long as you’d like. There’s plenty of room for tenting, RVs, and cabins for everyone. Kick back, play games in the mess hall, or just enjoy the quiet beauty of the location.

Thursday, August 21
If you’re up for it, we’d love help with cleanup. Many hands make light work (and we’ll provide coffee).

Ruckle Point Camp

This gorgeous, rustic venue features:

  • A mess hall with tables (perfect for cards & board games)
  • A full kitchen with propane stove, electric fridge & outdoor BBQ
  • 12 cabins with bunkbeds
  • Room for tents and RVs
  • Internet access on site

Ruckell Point Scout Camp is a remote camp in an absolutely beautiful area. There are 10 cabins, each 10×16′ with bunks for 8. A large log cabin contains a mess hall and kitchen with a propane stove, electric refrigerator; outdoors there is a wood stove with griddle and a BBQ. The bathrooms onsite are not flushable but there is running water for hand washing and cleaning. We are trying to bring in a portable bathroom trailer with a few flushable toilets and a sink to have onsite for the event, if this is important to you we are requesting donations towards this end. We can also for arrange outdoor showers as there aren’t any onsite, please let us know if this is of interest to you.

We are bringing in a pallet of water for clean drinking water and cooking so you won’t have to bring any. There is space for RVs but there is no power to plug in onsite, we do have solar power and generators.

*** Please let us know if you would like to bring a motorhome, fifth-wheel, or RV as there may be a size maximum. There is one sharp turn on the entrance to the camp and the grade into the parking lot is aproximately 12%. I wouldn’t recommend a trailer more than aproximtely 14 feet, however we are planning on bringing at least one 18 foot RV – it will just take some skill to get in into the parking lot.

There is a dedicated generator onsite for the Lodge and kitchen. We will have a second generator to assist primarily with kitchen needs. There is a small portable generator to provide power to the cabins via extension cables. There will be a Starlink onsite to provide internet, powered by solar.

There is plenty of room for tenting in a dedicated area in the trees alongside the water. We have procured new mattresses for most of the bunkbeds. If possible, please bring bedding (sheets & blankets or sleeping bag) and your own pillow. You will also need to bring your own towel. Let us know if we need to supply these for you, and we will have some spares of each.

We have rented some kayaks and canoes from the camp that will be available for use, we will also be bringing our own. Our life jackets are larger sizes – please let us know if you think any of your smaller ones may be interested in going out on the water.

Pets are welcome, owners are expected to leash and clean up after their animals. We will be providing a casual supper on Saturday after the ceremony and brunch on Sunday. These are the only meals that we have pre-planned, although there will be plenty of food, snacks and goodies available.

We are hoping that we can get some helping hands for setup and cleanup. There are plates and utensils onsite and we will be using disposable as much as we can. We plan to bring a selection of alcohol and drinks but if there is something specific that you require, you may want to bring it. I do hope to have some slush mix that we can add Sprite or alcohol to and there will be coffee, tea and other drinks available.
